UniCredit
Head of Financial Crime Prevention
Konrad Krupiński has spent more than twenty years in the financial sector, steadily building his focus around financial crime prevention. He currently leads the Financial Crime Prevention function at UniCredit in Poland, previously at Aion Bank, where he oversees the full risk management framework in this area. His scope covers governance, risk assessment, operational controls, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
His career has developed within fraud prevention and anti money laundering functions. Over time, he moved from operational roles into leading teams and building systems at the organisational level. At UniCredit, he progressed from deputy head to leading the function, taking responsibility for both strategy and its execution.
Earlier, he worked at PwC in Prague, advising on financial crime. He also led fraud prevention functions at Citi, BNP Paribas Bank Polska, and Alior Bank. Prior to that, at Raiffeisen Polbank, he grew from a coordinator into a head of unit, starting his career with a focus on card fraud and payment operations.
His work is grounded in the practical side of tackling fraud and money laundering. He focuses on online payments and card transactions, chargeback processes, loss analysis, KYC and CDD, sanctions control, and reporting. A key part of his work is building processes, from setting up teams from scratch to improving detection quality and reducing operational costs. He also works closely with external stakeholders, including solution providers, law enforcement, and financial regulators.
Konrad Krupiński approaches financial crime prevention not only as a matter of compliance, but as an operational function that directly affects losses, customer experience, and business resilience.
