Director - Global Liquidity Steering and Optimisation
Dr. Coşkun Tarkocin is the Head of Liquidity Steering and Optimisation at HSBC Group, leading strategic global initiatives aimed at enhancing balance-sheet efficiency, funding optimisation, and liquidity management. With over 15 years of experience in Treasury and Risk Management, he has developed deep expertise across liquidity strategy, market risk, credit risk, and balance-sheet control.
In his current role, Coşkun oversees HSBC’s global liquidity optimisation agenda, driving frameworks that strengthen regulatory compliance, stress testing, FTP, and financial resources management. His leadership supports the Group’s objective of maintaining resilience and capital efficiency across all geographies.
Coşkun holds a PhD in Economics, an MA in Economics, and a BSc in Industrial Engineering. He is a CFA® Charterholder and a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
In parallel with his industry responsibilities, he serves as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Qatar Centre for Global Banking & Finance, King’s Business School (King’s College London). His academic research focuses on bank risk management, liquidity and treasury operations, financial stability, and the evolution of financial markets.
