CEO, Open Banking Project
Mikheil Kapanadze is an expert in fintech, open banking, digital identity, and large-scale IT systems with more than 25 years of professional experience. His career, which began in 1997, spans roles as a software architect, developer, team leader, and executive.
Since 2020, Mikheil has been leading the Open Banking Project under the Banking Association of Georgia, where he is responsible for both strategic development and operational management. He serves as the editor-in-chief of the Georgian Open Banking Standard and actively supports banks and companies in its implementation, contributing to the development of a modern financial ecosystem.
In parallel, Mikheil is the Co-founder and CTO of Aisitec, where he oversees solution architecture, ensuring high standards of security, scalability, and resilience. He combines strategic leadership with a hands-on engineering approach, remaining actively involved in technical decision-making.
Previously, Mikheil held a C-level position in the public sector and played a key role in the development of e-government initiatives in Georgia. He is a co-author of the Law of Georgia “On Electronic Document and Electronic Trust Services” and has contributed significantly to its practical implementation. He also has extensive expertise in digital identity, including ePassports and ID cards.
