Market Risk Division Manager (Deputy Chief Risk Officer)
Berk Timur Alver is an accomplished financial risk management professional with more than 25 years of experience in Turkish banking.
He began his career in 1996 at Koçbank as a Treasury Financial Controller, where his division introduced risk management practices in 2000. Later, he joined Yapı Kredi Bankası, specializing in interest rate and liquidity risk management, asset-liability hedging, and BASEL implementation. His work included the development of methodologies for ICAAP, ILAAP, and Recovery Plan frameworks, as well as valuation and risk analysis of derivatives and securities.
Since 2012, Berk has been serving at QNB Finansbank (QNB Türkiye) as Head of Market Risk Management and Deputy Chief Risk Officer, overseeing market risk, counterparty credit risk, and structural banking book risk. He plays a key role in strengthening QNB’s risk framework and ensuring alignment with international regulations and best practices.
Berk holds several Capital Markets Board (CMB) certifications, including Advanced Level 3, Derivative Instruments, Credit Rating, and Corporate Governance Rating, demonstrating his comprehensive expertise in risk management and financial oversight.
