Senior Vice President, Country Finance Officer and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board
Arystan Moldabekov is a finance executive with more than 15 years of experience in financial management, auditing, accounting, and corporate reporting. His professional background combines experience across international consulting, banking, and the investment industry.
He is a graduate of KIMEP University, MSc Program of the University of London and MBA Program of One League. He is also an alumnus of the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) Program and a scholar of the U.S.-Central Asia Education Foundation (U.S.-CAEF). He holds the ACCA qualification, as well as certifications as an auditor and professional accountant of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Arystan began his career at EY, where he progressed from Associate to Audit Manager within the Global Financial Services practice. During this period, he led audit engagements for banks, financial institutions, and corporate clients, focusing on financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with international standards.
He subsequently held senior leadership positions in the banking sector, overseeing international financial reporting, accounting, and finance transformation initiatives. He later served as Chief Accountant and Chief Financial Officer in investment companies and funds, where he was responsible for financial management, reporting, and financial strategy execution.
Since August 2022, Arystan has been with Citibank Kazakhstan, serving as Country Finance Officer and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board. In January 2025, he was promoted to Senior Vice President. In his current role, he oversees financial management, regulatory and management reporting, engagement with supervisory authorities, and support for the bank’s strategic business development in Kazakhstan.
In 2024, Arystan was recognized as Kazakhstan’s Best Chief Financial Officer by the Kazakhstan Growth Forum. In addition to his professional responsibilities, he actively supports educational initiatives and serves as a speaker and mentor for students and young professionals pursuing careers in finance.
