TBC Bank
Head of Operational Risk Management
Lasha Mazanashvili leads the Operational Risk function at TBC Bank, where he is responsible for developing the operational risk management framework, implementing control procedures, and adapting risk practices to the rapidly evolving environment of digital banking. His scope includes risk assessment processes, including RCSA, as well as approaches to managing new products and preventing fraud.
His career has been shaped within the banking sector, gradually shifting from front office and product roles into risk management. At TBC Bank, he progressed through several stages within the risk function, from Risk Partner to Senior Risk Partner, before taking on his current role as Head of Operational Risk. In these positions, he worked on risk assessment and mitigation, contributed to the launch of digital products, and built control processes aligned with regulatory requirements.
Before joining TBC Bank, he worked at Credo Bank, where he combined experience in audit, product development, and lending. As an internal auditor, he focused on reviewing processes and control systems. Later, as a Product Owner, he was involved in launching Viber Banking, working at the intersection of technology and customer solutions. His earlier experience in lending gave him a solid understanding of business processes and portfolio management.
Alongside his core roles, he was also involved in projects related to financial planning and youth organisations, gaining additional managerial and organisational experience early in his career.
Today, Lasha Mazanashvili works on challenges where operational risk management is closely linked to digital product development, the adoption of new technologies, and the need to balance innovation with regulatory requirements and business resilience.
