Mirko de Giovanni is an experienced economist and capital markets specialist with over 15 years of international experience across global financial institutions, including the World Bank Group and the European Central Bank (ECB).
At the World Bank Group in Vienna, Mirko focuses on capital markets development, financial sector resilience, and liquidity policy frameworks for emerging economies, helping strengthen market infrastructure and promote sustainable financing solutions.
Before joining the World Bank, Mirko spent nearly a decade at the European Central Bank, where he served as a Senior Capital Markets and Treasury Expert, Supervisor, and Market Infrastructure Specialist. His work at the ECB covered treasury operations, market regulation, derivatives oversight, and capital market integration across the euro area.
Earlier in his career, he co-founded Verado, a fintech venture in London focused on the tokenization and monetization of real assets, and worked as an economic consultant at NERA Economic Consulting, specializing in transfer pricing, securities valuation, and intellectual property economics.
In parallel, Mirko contributes to education as a Post-Graduate Tutor and Career Mentor at Athena Tuition (UK), guiding students through postgraduate admissions and research programs, including preparation for Oxford and Cambridge.
